I was wondering what action I tin can have with regards to a neighbor who has simply recently moved a CCTV camera into his sleeping accommodation and is pointing it direct at our front door and two bathroom windows.

We live in a courtyard development (v houses) and the camera is about ten-fifteen metres away and conspicuously visible. He already has an external camera pointing towards his own door which is absolutely of no consequence, only I feel the 2nd camera is in violation of our rights to privacy.

We take recently had some flooding issues, although his property was not affected. The emergency services were called and he was seen standing watching everyone and even the burn down brigade felt the need to annotate.

Later that solar day when council representatives were on site, in front of witnesses he "flew" at my wife and invaded her space and verbally attacked her. What can I do?

The main laws surrounding the employ Of CCTV are contained within the Data Protection Act 1998 but these do not encompass domestic residences. Article 8 of the Act entitled "The Right to Respect for Private and Family Life, Home and Correspondence" ways that your neighbour might well be breaking the law here.

Ideally, it would be better if you lot could speak to the neighbours politely, explain the state of affairs to them and request that they brand certain modifications to the CCTV organization so that it does not infringe on your privacy. However, given you stated that the human being verbally attacked your wife, the likelihood would seem to suggest that he would not exist prepared to listen. Incidentally, the fact that the human verbally attacked your wife might be also covered under the Human Rights Act in terms of harassment alone. It's as well likely that his behaviour will have been mentally noted, at least, by the council representatives and so that could obviously go in your favour.

Therefore, I think you have every correct to contact your local authority or local police and have them come out to investigate. They would apparently demand to be satisfied that the installation was basically Causing Harassment, mayhap even bordering on voyeurism, and they could so have action. Alternatively, get some advice starting time from a solicitor who has specialist knowledge in this expanse.

Hi I accept the true definition of the neighbour from beyond hell. From her constantly banging on the wall at all hours to trigger my dog barking and so she can brand anonymous complaints to the council. To telling people of colour that I'm a racist. And I've had said person verbally corruption me with vile racist remarks. Now this horrendous neighbour has installed two cameras that signal directly into my front and back garden conspicuously breaching Article 8 of HRA 1998. The police turn down to help me as does the housing council. The latter considering next door is a homeowner. I rang the police and initially was told "they are as well busy to attend" then when I rang about the HATE Law-breaking, I was told that …"They're were not enough police force to attend" when I rang back a few days later equally theman who racially abused me did it again, I was told…"they didn't have any vehicles to attend". I was then fed upward I asked, " who was running Blackpool Police Station "NODDY" and would they like me to place an add in the local paper asking for donations of run around cars so they can do their jobs? To which I was told I was being rude. No I wasn't being rude!! No one will assist me! This atrocious neighbour tried to become neighbours to beat me up concluding year. The private that abused me last year apologised and we are now friends, then now the neighbour from hell has gone to neighbours down the road to verbally set on me. I'm trapped in my domicile, I cannot sit in my garden as her and her son watch me. I'thou disabled, the only reason she has installed them is to perve, considering I've never washed anything to her!Help!!!!!

I have CCTV inside my property facing the pavement leading upto my customs front door. This is for security reasons as I accept a dispute with one of my neighbors. The other twenty-four hours I was looking back at my CCTV footage and caught my neighbor taking photos of my CCTV. Is this allowed. I have contacted the police about this and they say that it's okay as it's a public identify even so I recollect she is taking photos for her self and passing them round. What is the law on this. I alive in flats. Our neighbour contrary (front door is effectually 1.5 meters away) has installed a band doorbell. Every time I enter or exit my property the camera activates and records through my entire hallway. I have 2 children of which run around naked a lot. My neighbor whom i dont get on with has installed a dome photographic camera under the awning of a big garden bar.its approx 2 foot higher than the boundary argue and nigh the same distance away pregnant they tin meet straight into our once individual garden.no consultation or anything,it simply appeared. I cant put a trellis up to make fence higher..their fence..any ideas ? Hi my neighbour has a hot tub which she placed vi feet in forepart of her house and adjacent to our fence. It's directly under my daughters bedroom window.She's put a marquee over it but has started having south*10 in information technology belatedly at dark with her boyfriend. Neighbours next door take installed a ring door bell to the front and back of at that place house which activates a sensor alarm exterior the holding everytime I walk up my own drive or up the side of my property do I have any rights to make them turn the sensor alarm off as it is loud enough to hear from within and extremely frustrating

I live in an apartment block and our Nextdoor neighbour has 21 cctv cameras on his house including a PTZ. These cameras movie u.s.a. everytime we are driving in and out of our car park, we take a 7 month old girl who is also being filmed when we arrive and out of the car. The PTZ follows people that walk past their property and this tin plainly zoom in aswell. The alarming thing is we have a chief school at the end of the road aswell. What tin can exist done most this matter? He has now installed some other one in the bushes pointing across the entrance of our car park. This isn't even covering his belongings at all.
